As a fully paid-up member of Generation X, I can appreciate that there is some truth to these generalisations and I can definitely see a difference not just between my peers and you Y-sters but also between each of us and the boomers before. I think it's largely a matter of economics so it will be interesting to see how the coming downturn effects generations Y and Z. As for loyalty, it's a two-way street - companies that show their employees how little they value them shouldn't be surprised that their staff are happy to jump ship. Hi Mike. In my experience working in larger companies, distrust from above doesn't demotivate older generations as much as it seems to demotivate mine.
