I think Google would be very wise to use Qt.I'm curious to see how / if they provide an extension framework similar to Firefox's. Will they use a XUL-like interface language? Scripting support à la QtScript? If they don't get that right, they'll certainly not win over the Firefox userbase that relies on extensions (as I do!) I'm very excited to see this develop.
